Senior Second XV vs Newbridge… K.O. 12 Noon… Big game for the 2’s as they are still in contention for winning their league and would very much appreciate all supporters in the club… This team has been unbeaten since last November and will be looking to finish off their home campaign on a high!!!

Senior Third XV vs St. Marys… K.O. 1 p.m…. A huge game for the 3’s as they fight to go second in the J5 league… This team has only last one game in 2010 with a loss to the league leaders… St. Marys beat the 3’s on the opening day of the season and Malahide are looking to avenge that defeat and Finish their home season on a high…

Small Blacks Play Their Hearts Out

Posted by Aidan On February - 23 - 2010

Many thanks and well done to all Small Blacks and parents who travelled to DLSP on Sunday 31 Jan.

It was a beautiful morning and an excellent day of rugby was had by both our teams.

Out of 11 matches we only lost two … so medals were well earned.

Thanks to Ger Cotter – who took charge of the other team.

We hope you enjoyed watching your Small Blacks – who gave a very good account of themselves …again.

More important – the kids really enjoyed it. Nearly all the players played in all the games which was great.

Villains March On!!!

Posted by pampers On February - 23 - 2010

Another terrific day of rugby for Malahide’s senior sides as Vineys Villains marched on towards 2nd place and the 2’s took a hard fought 14-3 win down in Wexford.

Game of the day was played on the fine pitches on estuary road as the J5 villains took maximum points against a Barnhall side who had previously beaten them in December on a day which some say was their worst in rugby.

This was Malahides day for revenge as the bitter taste of the defeat had not been washed from their mouths. Man of the Match Finn Lyons put in a sterling display at full back and set up three of the seven try’s scored by Malahide on the day.

Malahide U13’s – 49 V DLSP U13’s – 5

It’s been a little while since the U13’s have played a home match down at The Estuary and the lads were determined to take full advantage of the wide open spaces of the big pitch. DLSP have been big rivals over the last few seasons and the match was the normal feisty encounter with Ref Ian McGrory forced to blow the cobwebs off his yellow cards. Read the rest of this entry »

Malahide U16s  24 – Liberty Saints 5

Malahide U16s welcomed newcomers Liberty Saints to Estuary Road on Sunday 21 February and were made to work very hard for their win over the visitors. The score-line in no way reflected the efforts of a very committed performance from the boys from the Liberties, and it was only in the 2nd half that Malahide took real control of the game.

Vineys’ Villains Take The Treasure

Posted by pampers On February - 18 - 2010

On a day made perfect for rugby, Malahide’s Third XV took to the field on Estuary Road for a game against a Stillorgan side that had already beaten Malahide, and were sitting proudly in third position in the league. The intent of the Stillorgan players was shown from the early hours of the morning when they turned up a full 75 minutes before kick off in preparation…

The Malahide warm up was very quiet but it wasn’t from nerves, it was from clear concentration on the task set out for them. Finally came kick off time and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Malahide Players.  After the early exchanges from both teams, with ball working its way through the hands of the well drilled back lines of both sides, Malahide were to set the tone for the day….
